Lecture Outline: Evangelism As Gardening

A.      Introduction: paghahambing ng dalawang magbubukid… isa ay walang alam kaysa isa… at ano ang resulta sa kanilang mga tanim…

I. Paghahanda ng lupa—(ground preparation)
1.       Soil testing (conduct a survey)
a.       Mabatong lupa – (easy go lucky people)
b.      Sandy soil – (mga taong walang paki… kanya kanya lang)
c.       Fertile  soil –(mababait at mga taong gusting matuto pa at mapalapit sa Dios)
2.       Seeds testing --- (magaral magbasa at magpraktis)
a.       Anong klasing approach
b.      Ano anong mag materials
3.       Plowing – ( sabihin kung ano pweding maitulong) brake the barrier.
a.       Soil clearing –(makita ang felt needs)
                                                                           i.      Invite them
                                                                         ii.      Get the necessary permit
4.       Watering the soil—(ituloy ang pagdadalaw)
a.       Samahan ng nabubulok na mga dahon—(mag imbita para sa mga bata)
b.      magbigay ng mga nakakaaliw na mga kwento kung may mga bata.
c.       Tumulong kung may ginagawa ang dinalaw.
d.      At laging ipanalangin
5.       Cultivating the soil… (ipallow up ang mga legal na material para sa barangay)
a.       Magsunog ng maga tuyong dahon…sabihin ang tunay na layunin kung ano ang nais ng Dios sa kanyang mga anak…
II.  Sowing the right seed—(ipakilala si kristo)
1.       Piliin ang binhi na buhay---si kristo ang sentro
a.       Alisin ang makasariling kaisipan.
2.       Basaiin din ang binhi --- palagiang hingin ang tulong ng Banal na Ispiritu.
3.       Alisin din ang nakakatakip sa sikat ng araw---sabihin ang pangangailangan kay Kristo.
III. Cultivation---follow up…
1.       Watering the plant---visitation with prayer
2.       Weeding the garden---magsabi ng ilang karanasan ng pagiging new convert
a.       Encouragements
b.      Temptations
c.       Bullying
                                                                           i.      Bigyan sila ng mga akmang mga talata
3.       Fertilizing the plant---ipakita ang iyung mga karanasan kung paano ka pinagpala ng Dios
a.       Lagyan ng mga nabubulok na mga dahon---tulingan sila kapag nagkaroon ng suliranin.
b.      Tulungan din sa pagaaral ng bibliya
c.       Mas palakasin ang relasyon sa kanila.
4.       Pest control---maging aware sa mga balakid
a.       Sagutin kung may mga tanung.
b.      Ipaalam na ang lahat ng sumunod kay Kristo ay nakaranas ng pagsubok
                                                                           i.      Basahin ang pagkatukso kay Kristo.
IV. Harvesting---don’t be in a hurry
1.       Hintayin kung magulang na ang anihing bunga---
a.       Huwag madaliin ang pagbibinyag
b.      Ipanalangin na ang Banal na Ispiritu ang siyang gumawa sa kanila.
2.       Huwag lagyan ng kalburo---
a.       Huwag daanin sa pananakot
b.      Huwag kunsinsyahin
V. Mga binhing pananim---Discipleship
1.       Gawin silang kasangkot
2.       Gawin silang tagasunod.
3.       Gawin din silang halimbawa
4.       Gawin silang daluyan ng katotohanan at pagpapala para sa iba…

     - Personal Experience about Gardening

I. Preparation
     a. Prepare yourself (the Sower)
            1. Immersing yourself with the Word of God,
            2. Searching your heart/soul, Consecration
     b. Pick a Place (Where the plant can receive more sunlight)
1. Examine the place/people what’s the best method according to
   their attitude and knowledge.
     c. Clear the Ground (Weeding, Taking away stones, set up the bed)
             1. Prayer Walk (clearing your own spiritual life & clearing the field
                with the help of the Holy Spirit)
             2. Devotion / Meditation
     d. Improve the Soil (Cultivation, Fertilization)
              1. Friendship Evangelism
                    - VBS
                    - Helping, building relationships, etc 
              2.  Felt Needs Ministry
                    - Health Ministry
                    - Literacy
                    - Livelihood

II. Sowing
     a. Preparing the Seed
              1. Survey for Bible Study
              2. Preparing Materials/Message
              3. Prepare Self
     b. Putting the Seed
              1. Actual Bible Study
              2. Life as a Sermon

III. Cultivation
     a. Loosening the Soil - Continuous Bible Study, Visitations
     b. Watering – Prayer, Teaching them Practical Christianity
     c. Fertilizer - Continuous Bible Study, Improve relationship with the interests
     d. Pest Control – Answer Objections and Guide them to the truth (always pointing
         to Jesus Christ)

IV. Harvesting
     a. Check Ripe Fruits – Segregate the ripe from the immature fruits
              1. Getting decisions, Separate Class A, B, C, and so on.
     b. Right Reaping (time, and how to get the fruit so the whole plant will
         not be uprooted)
              1. Reaping Crusade
              2. Baptism

V. Enjoying / Sharing
     a. Packing / Preserving – right packing and where to preserve
              1. What Church & Who are the right people to take care of them
              2. Fellowship with Church members (Develop good relationships)
              3. Continuous review of the Doctrines, Teaching them Hymns
              4. Visitations
     b. Prepare it for Cooking (Put over the Fire)
              1. Expose them to Church Activities and Church Ministries
     c. Meal Time! (Set it on the Table)
              1. Their personal witnessing, Ready to go in the field
