Many people are bored and not enticed in studying the bible. Today, I was reminded with the different approaches on how to study the Bible. This includes the inductive, deductive, devotional, keyword, character, events, and place bible study. When we apply these approaches, reading and studying the word of God will never become dull again. One, two or three years are not enough to exhaust the messages in the Bible. We can study the bible for a lifetime getting new truths from the same passages. We will experience the enjoyment, fun, and excitement in understanding and receiving the wisdom from His word.
ReplyDeleteI am already familiar with the inductive bible study but now I have learned the better way. Before, i will just meditate on the passage and look for the messages that I need to see in the story. The teacher will ask us to write it and submit to him and he will give my grade just like in Homiletics class. Sometimes he will ask us to read infront of the class about we have learned from the story. That’s it. But today’s lesson is different. I have learned how to facilitate well to emphasize the lesson using questions. There is a right way to do it in the observation, interpretation, and application part. My mind became more organize, conscious, and aware of the steps to be done to ensure that the message of the story will be raised. You need to be articulate on what questions to ask to cultivate the mind of your audience and at the same time driving them to the lessons you want to emphasize.
